Hygrophila pinnatifida 'Roseus'
Hygrophila pinnatifida 'Roseus' is a cultivated variant of H. pinnatifida, developed by the Sreepadma Aqua Flora tissue culture lab in India. This variety is distinguished by its deeply lobed leaves and a unique rose-pink to reddish coloration, especially when grown under high-intensity lighting and optimal nutrient conditions. It has a moderate growth rate, and although not as aggressive as the standard type, it steadily produces lateral shoots that allow for bushier, more compact growth.A nutrient-rich substrate enhances rooting and vigor, though it can also grow well when attached to hardscape due to its partial epiphytic nature. In terms of aquarium positioning, H. pinnatifida 'Roseus' is ideally placed in the midground or as a highlight in the background, where its textured leaves and rose coloration provide contrast and depth in aquascapes.
