Anubias barteri var. glabra is a botanical variety of Anubias barteri, distinguished by its elongated, lanceolate leaves with a smoother texture and a more streamlined appearance compared to broader-leaf varieties like A. barteri var. nana. Native to the tropical regions of West Africa, this variety is adapted to both emersed and submersed growth in humid environments, making it highly versatile for aquariums, paludariums, and ripariums. The plant exhibits a slow growth rate, producing new leaves gradually, typically forming a horizontal rhizome from which leaves and roots emerge. It is best suited for midground placement or as an epiphytic accent on hardscape elements like driftwood or rocks, where its upright, narrow leaves can provide a subtle contrast to broader or finer-leaved species. The rhizome must not be buried in substrate, as this can lead to rot—secure attachment using thread, glue, or fishing line is recommended
